Graduate Student Clubs

Entomology Graduate Organizations (EGO)

The Entomology Graduate Organization (EGO) was started in February 2002 to improve the level of graduate involvement in department affairs and to increase social interaction among students. The organization facilitates communication among graduate students and between faculty and the Department Head. We also organize social and academic events in the department, such as picnics and departmental seminars. [Website]

Journal Club

RulesPurdue Poker Club

The graduate students in the department formed a journal club in the fall of 2006 to discuss classic and current scientific papers. The club meets every two weeks for lunch and all members of the department are invited to attend. Lively discussions are held about a variety of topics, where students learn about more than just scientific methods. This forum provides a link to the world outside of each individual student’s research interests and is a valuable learning tool.
